Does God even care you exist? Seeking some insight about life for yourself or a loved one? This revised edition of There's No Such Thing as Coincidence contains true stories that present synchronicity (meaningful coincidence) as an intriguing, fascinating phenomenon and earthly manifestation of God's love. From predicting the score to Joe Torre for a Yankees baseball game to a priest being saved from a building collapse by 'no one' paging him to helping relay a message from a dying mother to her family, Jan's book will make you think twice about 'coincidences' in your own life. Workbook for the Soul, in the second part of the book, contains thought-provoking questions that are sure to be conversation starters and that are effective at offering insight into some of the mysteries of life.
Longtime health and nutrition advocate for children. Writer/Publisher - authored There's No Such Thing as Coincidence (featured on Oprah) and Treasure Hunt with the Munch Crunch Bunch; a story/activity book that uses charming food characters to engage and empower children to make healthy food choices.
This book very simply describes the true meaning of what many people mistakenly call ‘coincidence’. Once people grasp this concept, the world will be a better place!
I found this book to be likable, but it was really a two-and-a-half STAR read not a solid 3. It read like a compilation of "Reader's Digest" essays submitted by subscribers. The author obviously spent alot of effort consolidating all the accounts and cobbling them together into chapters. This was really nothing NEW to me, as far as the subject matter is concerned.
The book seemed well organized, and I appreciated the decent editing. There was nothing PROFOUND or ground-breaking here, just many different accounts from lots of different folks about their personal experiences with "Synchronicity." I didn't find my beliefs altered significantly by this material. It felt like if the reader already BELIEVES in God, a Higher-Power, etc. existing behind the scenes and pulling strings then this will serve to REAFFIRM their faith.
However, the material presented did not feel compelling or convincing enough to convert a reader who does NOT already have faith. That's not to say there is anything WRONG with this book, and it is very positive, upbeat reading. The logic is lacking to form a solid argument that Synchronicity is nothing more than coincidence.

This book is a wonderful illustration of how we are guided and many times protected by an “invisible” force. Each story is filled with intrigue and the outcomes reinforce a trust of relying upon that guidance, however subtle. Events from the author’s own work as a healer and hospice worker are especially meaningful and inspiring.
While I appreciate the author's message, I did not feel like this was a well written book. It was too choppy and all over the place for my taste. I received this book through Goodreads First Reads.
