Traveling around the world again!

Breaking down more barriers and continuing to promote respect for the world's diversity, we are introduced to 19 new countries. Discovering unique facts from pre-teens and teens sharing their homelands, culture and what they aspire to become, in letter form.

This is book 3 of 15 in the I Am Proud Series by Barbara Woster. She has published 11 books in this series and the last 4 books having estimated release dates between July and September.

As with the previous books I have read in this series, I loved this book and so did my children. They open it up as quickly as possible when we get it and devour the contents, always excited to meet the new people from each country. One boy we met was 15-year-old Lyam from Gibraltar. We learned his home was a peninsula south of Spain, that is has an extremely unique airport runway and that he hopes to become a pilot himself one day.

We got to meet Daniat from the African country of Eritrea, Derek from Delaware, and Aahana from India. We also met a girl who wants to work on a cruise ship, another who has enrolled in school to become an Oceanographer and a boy who wants to become an audiologist to help his deaf sister.

I have recommended this series to many people including a teacher who now has the first 11 books in her 2nd grade classroom and has pre-ordered the last 4. She's so excited to share these books with her class.

I can't express how much I am loving this series, the amount of information my children have learned from them, and what I have learned along with them.

n book three of the I’m Proud of Who I Am series, we continue on our journey around this big, blue marble and visit nineteen other countries. Like in the previous books, each countries flag proudly waves beside the letter from its citizen. In that letter, you’ll find information about each country, hopes and dreams about the citizens life, traditions, dress, and a lot more. On the following page after each of the nineteen letters, you’ll find a brilliantly coloured picture of the citizen. The picture has been painted to look like a photograph. This is a very well written and well researched book. For this reason, we award it 5 stars.

A Pre-Teen or Teenager’s Read

This was an awesome book for a young reader beginning at the age of twelve. I would definitely recommend this book for a social studies teacher who is trying to interest her or his students about world studies.
Even I was excited to see who the next story would be about. The author yields the floor to some wonderful introductions that not only familiarize the reader with another place, but also shares the languages and cultures.
I think this is a good read but especially for a teenager!

Proud To Learn

I am always amazed anytime I read one of Barbara Woster's books in this series. Even within the United States, I am always interested in the aspects I never knew about my own country. This is a fantastic series.
