These fun stories told in under 80 words are perfect for emergent readers.Clever Little Monkey really wants the bananas on the other side of the river - but the river is full of hungry crocodiles! Can he trick his way across? The Tadpoles series contains fun, original stories told in under 80 words and accompanied by bright illustrations, perfect for beginner readers.
This book could be used as an individual reading book for FS children and it has eve catching, bright illustrations. However, the story isn't very exciting and it's very short. It touches on problem solving but there is no rhyme in it and I personally found it a little boring. There are definitely more enjoyable books for young children but it could be used for very early readers as it is quite simplistic and an easy read.
Miss 6 is enjoying working through this Tadpole series of early readers. Large font and one sentence per page. Non-decodeable/phonics.
Miss 6 and I like to explore different books and authors at the library, sometimes around particular topics or themes. We try to get different ones out every week or so; it's fun for both of us to have the variety and to look at a mix of new & favourite authors.
