Including contributions from such notable scholars as David Gauthier, Noel Malcolm, D.D. Raphael, and Richard Tuck, this volume offers a variety of views on central aspects of Hobbes's life and work, including the importance of his political theory and the wider context of that theory.
Some people asked me how do I keep my interest in reading non-fictions, and this book could be a great example why. My interest towards history and philosophy are pretty much similar with common’s interest towards certain characters in novels/movies. I do have my favorite characters and each book tells a whole different perspective on the character as well as their ideas. It just gets more interesting the more I read since it builds up my insights about the characters I’m into. This book is a compilation on how some scholars look at one of my favorite philosophy characters, Thomas Hobbes. His concepts are being reviewed and elaborated, some defended Hobbes and some others criticized. One of the gems I found in my university library.
