It's not a bad book, kind of entertaining when yoú have nothing better to read. You should be interested in roman military history, though, as the book tells a tale of an alternate history where the Roman Empire never faded away but is about to conquer the (kind of modern) world.

It has great lengths and is all in all too long. The characters are not very likeable but the story telling and the action is solid. Some ideas especially towards the end of the book are quite interesting. Romans vs Incas. :)

Due to it's length I guess I wouldn't read it again.
