Today's increasingly competitive business environment requires new skills and commitment from salespeople. Like the successful Guerrilla Marketing and Guerrilla Marketing Attack, this book presents unconventional ideas that are easy, and exciting for entrepreneurs at every level.
I read this many years ago, but was recently invited to a class that quoted the concept and it got me to thinking that this was easily the worse business book I have ever read.
Hey, I had to read this stuff for my work. Business books are the quivalent of new agey self-help books. Everyone figures out a gimmick (a metaphor, analogy, or anecdote)and then runs with it. Even with research and numbers to back them up--or even real life examples--none of these people know, truly, why some business succeed and others fail. Forty years ago, would anyone suspect the Big Three automakers in the U.S. would be faltering so badly?
May be outdated, but many of the concepts are still solid. I'm not a salesman but I actually learned a lot about how to deal with different personality types from this book. Was an invaluable resource!
If you're serious about sales, this is a good listen. As a real estate broker in one of the most competitive markets in the US, I think you will enjoy.
