Strong Woman Survive

After too many years spent in a bad marriage, Kim’s ready to move on. Fortunately a friend has given her the number of a good lawyer. Cooper Wray, who makes sure she has money, until the divorce becomes final and is in a safe place. Unfortunately her ex is not only a master at carving away her self esteem over the years, he’s determined to stop the divorce. Particularly as his mother will disinherit him if he divorces. Death is not a problem for her though and Hunter is determined to stop the divorce, even if it means killing her. Fortunately she has Cooper by her side and the support of good friends.

Act of Survival is my favorite book in Marsha R. West's Second Chances series. The main character, Kim, is determined to leave her abusive husband who is a member of a powerful family. With the help and support of her good friends and a very cool lawyer, she makes the break, but fears for her life. I especially enjoyed the gentle romance that grew throughout the story between Kim and the lawyer. I applaud Ms. West for bringing awareness to domestic violence through this story. If you like suspense and romance, you'll enjoy reading this book.

I thoroughly enjoyed the entire Second Chances series, but this really was my favorite of the four books. I'll be reading more of Marsha West's books..
