These folksy quilts inspired by nineteenth-century tile quilts are easy to make and work beautifully with today's colorful, contemporary fabrics, but they retain that old-time style that makes them so much fun to sew and show off.
I reviewed this book last June/ July 2010 when it first came out. I love the look of this technique... it is on my SOMEDAY LIST to try a project from this book... If I ever retire... that is my goal. I loved the sample in the store where I bought the book. I did talk to the teacher who taught a class in this technique and it does take a long time to do. The fabric selected is what makes this project / technique work or fail.
This is a really nice book about a quilt form I've never heard of before. I have enjoyed reading the historical notes at the beginning, but I really like the updated versions. Their technique, just from previewing, seems very easy. As a new hand applique devotee, I am excited to start a project. I think this technique will be perfect for a project already in the planning stages, that wasn't working well with a crazy quilt technique.
