This is the first book in this series that I have issues with (and I´ve gone through quite a few now, together with the kids). It´s never precisely stated where the story takes place (just 'Africa'), but since they go search for Mountain gorillas, it takes place somewhere in the Virunga mountains. Now this doesn´t particularly bother me, since the names in this part of Africa changed often enough in the last few decades. What bothered me was that appartantly, to the author, jungle is jungle. And the constant mention of bamboo (which might grow there, but certainly isn´t the main vegetation), and, even worse, the Olchis finding several Durian fruit trees (native to south-east Asia) definately made it sem the author got his continents mixed up.
For the rest, this was an entertaining trip with the Olchis, raising awareness about the endangered gorillas, poachers and oil companies looking for new grounds (and destroying nature in the process).
