It was once said that the best poets write about what they’re too scared to experience. This was never the case for the DSGG (Down South Georgia Girl) poet Andrea Nicole Bliss. In this real life coming of age tale, Drea finds herself living out her wildest fantasies…or someone else’s and facing a crossroads where she has to decide just who she wants to become and her notebooks hold the secret of the true and false. With her best friend by her side, she battles her own poor decisions as she faces motherhood, drug addiction and the hang ups of chasing love when you don’t know what it looks like. The more she thinks she is sure of what and who she wants, the harder life manages to knock her on her ass. Will continuously loving “Mr. Wrong” change her for the worse? Will she become the same kind of mother she had? Or will she finally get her shit together? Life has a funny way of not being what it seems, only the wise survive. And only time with prove Andrea’s fate in this twisted tale of ironic truths and Poetic Testimony.
This was a very deep read from start to finish! The story line was very good and it flowed smoothly. I loved how Drea grew as a person! The author did a great job describing Drea’s growth! I only gave this book 4 stars due to the amount of errors in this book. With a title like this one I would have loved to see more poems in the book! I do look forward to reading the next part !
