Zack is your typical somewhat social outcast teen, but when he happens upon a mysterious typewriter that seems to grant his wishes, his life changes as he learns the hard way that some wishes are best left unfulfilled as the price to pay may be too high.
This story starts off as your typical teenager drama, but it escalates quickly, and by the end, you don’t even realize you’ve been holding your breath. For a short read, the author masterfully grips you with an iron claw and throws you into an incredibly dark story. And I loved every minute of it. This is my second read from Jack Pierce, and he’s finding a fan in me.

I have a hard time suspending reality while reading booms that are based in reality. Fantasy books you expect there to be things that seem out of reach. Books like this, while also based in fantasy, often turn me off when magical objects appear and are not used as a teenager would use them.
Good idea, not executed great. I did not finish the book and I am sorry I was unable to do so.
