Rate this book
A Ronda George Thriller

Talented kickboxer and Masterchef turns detective.

After a shattering discovery – will Ronda survive?

Charismatic TV personality Daniel Clarkson employs Ronda George to cater at an exclusive function in his well-known Kent country pub.

She’s shocked to find her ex, James Frampton, who stole her savings, is launching a new cryptocurrency.

With the help of eight wealthy, social influencers it will take the Internet by storm.

But Ronda discovers that the business deal is a scam. James and his business partners will stop at nothing to launch the venture - even if it means silencing her forever.

Ronda’s intuition and instincts kick in and she calls on her army and martial arts skills in order to survive and get back what’s rightfully hers.

The Influencers is the second book in the Ronda George series of thrillers which can be read and enjoyed in any order, although it’s exciting to watch Ronda’s personal development with each book in the series and it’s preferable to read them in sequence.

For fans of female sleuths and aficionados of Lucy Foley, Catherine Cooper, Allie Reynolds, Shari Lapena, Riley Sager and Lisa Jewell. You will be instantly hooked.

Last month, business entrepreneur and SpaceX designer, Elon Musk's revealed he had bought $1.5 billion worth of bitcoin and the stock markets soared.
All the major banks in the world are looking at blockchain. Cryptocurrency is a system that uses blockchain technology in order to make it work.
Times are changing and my new novel The Influencers is bang up to date.

Although this is only the second book in this series, it is becoming obvious to me that the protagonist, Ronda George, is a worthy central character, in the first book she was rather uncertain and lacking in confidence from being jilted by her ex, James Frampton, who also conned her out of all her money. But in this book she is using her cookery expertise, she won the TV cookery show Masterchef, and also her kickboxing and military skills to become a more formidable character, who can look after herself.
The plot is clever and right up to date, dealing with cryptocurrencies (like Bitcoin) and also social media influencers and how important they can be in getting projects off the ground, but how they can also be used as part of a huge confidence trick.
The ending to the book is extremely exciting and we really see Ronda getting her mojo back.
The author's books are always peopled by believable characters, both good and bad, and there are quite a few in this book, I especially liked Daisy, who is a typical celebrity obsessed youngster, but who is also resourceful and brave when it matters.
I would recommend reading book 1 'The Concealers' before this one as it gives a lot more background to Ronda, but this book does make a perfectly acceptable stand-alone as well.
I received an advance copy of this book, but have voluntarily written this honest review.

I am loving this series! The second book in this new series, takes Ronda to a quaint country pub to cook for a select group of people (influencers) who are being courted to take part in a new cryptocurrency "scheme". Ronda takes on the one time lunch job unbeknownst to her that her ex-fiance, James, is the leader. James has recommended her to the pub owner, Daniel. Hugo, sommelier that also works for Europol is also serving. Daisy, one of the regular kitchen staff of the pub, is star struck and is a comical addition to the story. but causes some risks for herself and others. What should be a simple catered lunch turns into three catered lunches and one big nightmare. The guests have already put in their money when some begin to think this is a scam. Ronda is on to James and he begins to threaten her. Daniel isn't happy either that things are falling apart. Things turn deadly for all. Ronda must dig deep into her physical and mental skills to keep herself alive and help the others.
I received an ARC and voluntarily provided this review.

I just finished reading Janet Pywell's second book The Influencers and I am thoroughly in love with her heroine Ronda George. She smart, strong, a master chef, and can hold her own anywhere. Ms. Pywells characters come to life on the page and are very realistic. I like Hugo's character and Ronda discovers more about him. Wow. Daisy is the small village, 20 something, star obsessed kitchen help and Ms. Pywell just nailed Daisy's character perfectly. I love Daisy!! Then there's James, Ronda's awful ex who's the center of a cryptocurrency scam. This book is so exciting, fast pace, with a special cast of characters all playing their role oh so well. Greed for some and one more chance for many, hoping upon a dream. A compelling tale of high ambition, possibilities and corruption. A must read.
