Shawn meets the “Alpha Team” leader, Blakely Adams, a werewolf hunter but more. She had been captured and experimented on which has given her new special abilities. Now she seeks revenge for the death of her former teammates by the vampires and their werewolf guards.

This is the start of a new direction for Alpha Team where their enemies are some of the most powerful people in America allied with the undead. Their investigations take them around the world. And with the power of big business, CEOs, and politicians, comes countless conspiracies where Shawn and Blakely will only have each other to trust. Blakely is the leader of Team 3. She is not too excited when she hears that she is getting a new observer. Especially since the last one was killed so gruesomely. Seven months ago, Shawn found out that Demons were real when Father Patrick called to ask if he could come to look at the electrical wiring in The Blessed Church of the Lamb. After he finished checking the system and writing down what he thought he needed, Shawn heard noises. When he got closer to the Church office, he realized that was where the noise was coming from. Shawn ran to the door calling for Father Patrick only to find the door locked. When he busted in the door, he found what looked like an emaciated homeless man holding Father Patrick by the neck about half a foot off the floor. This story is full of action that will keep you on the edge of your seat. Highly recommended.

As Shawn and his Holy Relic/Angel fuse together and the Bishop takes him to join in his new team, he realizes that this is where he was meant to be. Being a woman over a group of men was unheard of, but that is exactly what Blakley did. She was the female leader of one of the teams that took care of the supernatural bad guys. When Blakley and Shawn met they felt a chemistry and their interesting and exciting job led them through danger, vampires, werewolves, secret lairs, shootouts and the deaths of their teammates. As the twists emerge a certain vampire pays them back by capturing someone close to Blakley because their team kidnapped a master vampire that had done something to the Vice President. Paranormal -- Heavenly Angels, vampires and werewolves,...oh my! Pretty good read!

Fast paced; the characters are cohesive while strong, tight knit and have each others backs. Lucifer Morning Star's 'first' daughter Amun Ra. Yes, that Egyptian. Though the sands of time somehow misconstrued. Interesting read linked with Creation and history down through the ages. Tremendous weapons cash with non-stop fighting. Not my usual genra, in fact, quite different, but got into it basically because of the Angels. Now I'm seemingly hooked & need to find out what happens in the next series. The good always wins!! Grab a hot-toddy, get cosy and immerse imagination! You just might be surprised. PottsvillePA; FRI; 10202023. Enjoy.

Much better series than I expected from someone who was to me an unknown author. A good mix of novel concepts and trope concepts along the lines of some Clancy books/movies. The action was continuous almost like it was an action movie script. The characters were fun, interesting and actual hero's without the popular devastating psychological wounds. Not that they didn't have an issue or two just that those issue's did not become the PC focus of the stories. Good Job Mr. Roberts.

Awesome story

I first started with his Second Chance trilogy and became hooked with his style. This Chain and Mace is a fun read. It has suspense and action with great storytelling. I look forward to the second book.
