The Clatterbangs Go To The Beach
Meet the Clatterbangs – a family known for being the absolute worst! With their rude ways and terrible manners, they're a bunch you wouldn't want to meet. There's Dirty old Father Clatterbang, a shouty man with a clapped-out van, and his not-much-better wife, Mother Clatterbang, who never cracks a smile. Then there's Kerry, their spiteful daughter who loves teasing pets, and Jerry, the moody little brother with a bite to match his bark. Living on an empty street due to their ghastly ways, the Clatterbangs embark on an unexpected beach trip. The sun is shining, the waves are calling, and the Clatterbangs are ready for chaos! Jerry plots to pester sunbathers, Father dreams of splashing bratty kids, Kerry wants to chase down seagulls, and Mother plans an embarrassing prank on the lifeguard. But will the Clatterbangs finally meet their match? Will the beachgoers have a few tricks of their own? Join this uproarious family on a day filled with hilarious misadventures, unexpected twists, and life lessons they won't soon forget. "The Clatterbangs Go To The Beach" is a comical and colourful tale that reminds us that even the worst of us can find a way to change – and perhaps even have a splash of fun along the way! Get ready for a seaside journey of transformation, laughter, and maybe, just maybe, a little bit of kindness.

This is a fun and amusing read with a great moral at the end! The Clatterbangs are an unlikeable, yet intriguing, family. 😅 Nobody seems to like them, and they don’t even like each other! They plot all kinds of funny business when they go to spend a day at the beach, only for it all to backfire on them. Each member of the family gets what they deserve for not being so nice. It’s a good lesson in reaping what you sow and treating others how you’d like to be treated.
I’m curious to see what becomes of the family in future books!

The Clatterbangs Go To The Beach is the first of the deliciously grotty, undeniably addictive Clatterbangs series.
The four Clatterbangs live alone on their block because they’ve driven their neighbors away with their miserable, stinky misbehavior. Father and Mother and their spawn, Jerry and Kerry, live together in a miasma of ill-tempered sloth and spite. They even drive themselves to distraction, and “one sunny day” Father declares they have to get out of the house. And so the Clatterbanags pile into the family van to bring their brand of petty spitefulness to the beach, each plotting what nasty mischief they can inflict on their fellow sunbathers.
We all love to see bullies get their proper comeuppance. Uproarious fun ensues when their shenanigans are routed by their intended victims in a most satisfying fashion.
Retreating home sad and tired, the defeated clan wonders if things wouldn’t go so they badly for them if they weren’t so bad themselves. Herein lies an important message: What we give out to the world shapes what we get back. Our perceptions, our own inner weather determine how we experience life. And this is something that is in our power to change.
Highly recommended for both children and adults.

Funny story about the worst family you could ever meet
This book is hilarious! The Clatterbangs is the worst family you could ever meet. They behave horribly to everyone and are always thinking of ways to annoy and be mean to other people. The things they try to do are truly terrible but each time, they get what they deserve because bad guys don't win! It's a great book to teach kids how not to behave and a good reminder that being rude and mean will always have consequences.

This book is funny from start to finish! The illustrations are hilarious too. The story of the most dysfunctional family you’ll ever meet. In this adventure, the Clatterbangs hit the beach with one goal: ruin everyone else’s day. But plot twist—turns out the other beachgoers aren’t having it and are more than ready to teach the Clatterbangs a lesson in fun and games.Great for kids and parents to laugh together can wait to read some more.

The Clatterbangs get their just deserts
In this hilarious children’s rhyming book about a family who are just oh so very bad, the Clatterbangs are both the villains and the main characters. They are a family of scoundrels who enjoy causing mischief, and after they’ve gotten on each other’s nerves, they decide to go stir things up at the beach. Little do they know, actions have consequences! This book is a riot, it’s a fun book that I think any kid would enjoy!

A fun kids’ book with a twist!
It’s pretty rare to find a children’s book with a villain as the main character—but a whole family of villains? Wow, that’s a bold move. And yet, this author makes it work. The rhyming text is fun and engaging, especially to read aloud. And we had fun rooting for the bad guys to get their comeuppance!

Funny! We loved it!
Ahh, we all have met families that are like the Clatterbangs before! This silly rhyming book teaches kids about that if you're kind people will enjoy your company more. The Clatterbangs are not kind, and they learn their lesson towards the end of the book. My daughter loved the part with the seagulls! Awesome story!

The worst family!
Not all books are sunshine and rainbows. The Clatterbangs are a horrible family! They disrupt peaceful moments, cause chaos everywhere they go, and purposely trying to find ways to ruin others day. Funny book & I love it!

Book 71 of my Goodreads Challenge 2020 re-read May 2022 print edition
What a horrible family, they deserve an ASBO
(UK Anti-Social Behaviour Order – an official order that a person must stop behaving in a way that annoys or harms other people)
Oh my goodness crying with laughter over here. What an amusing read, great characters you 'll just love to hate. Fab illustrations.
I think this book will appeal to a wide variety of folk of different ages. At first seeing the illustrations and taking a peek at the ‘Look Inside’ I thought it might appeal more to older kids but was surprised to see that families were sharing it with very young children and they were actually enjoying it too.
We enjoyed the rhythm and rhyme of the story telling, a truly fun read. The Clatterbangs are a terrible family. In this story they visit the beach after the father decides he has had enough of his family and wants to go take it out on poor innocent folk at the beach. However, things do not go as they planned. So glad the tables get turned. Why not check it out for yourself to see the outcome.
Miss Ruby Heart loved it and gave it 4 paws and a lick = 5*
