Everything was fine until that sexy and brilliant, blue-eyed Adonis, Shayne Matthews, walked onto the stage of the convention. He wasn't even supposed to be here. But from the second he opened his mouth and that sultry voice said my name, all I've done is daydream about what he looked like under those fancy dress clothes. What's wrong with me? I'm not that kind of girl.I'm a professional, I don't get distracted. And this speaking engagement was the next step in my career—I can't be going all gaga even if he was hotter than sin. There's just something about him, something that tempts me to break all my rules. All I had to do was say yes.Contains mature subject matter, sexual content, 18+ readers only
So mixed feelings!!! I don’t know what to think of this story and its development in the other two books of the trilogy...
Andy Morrison was attending a conference where she met Shayne Matthews. While she was in a lifeless relationship with Jeremy, she had the best sex of her life with Shayne. Later on, during her last night in the city, Shayne cancelled their dinner while Andy was waiting for him at the restaurant. On her way back to the hotel, on the other side of the street she saw Shayne hugging a blond beautiful woman. The following morning she boarded on the plane to go back home, ignoring his message to call him. The story was dragging, there was only Andy’s pov and a small introduction of Shayne’s character. I will not get into details concerning the editing... 🙄

Talk about slow and sultry HOT !! WOW !! With a title like this of course you expect some sexy touching but this was way better than that. This conference is one she’ll always remember. Loved the characters, they were believable, and can definitely be loved and hated. Self esteem issues are huge and to have the courage to do what she did was great. I just read it and can’t wait to read the next ones. I recommend this book.
Andy Morrison is a very effective motivational speaker, that is for everyone other than herself. She has remained too long in a hopeless relationship that offers her very little pleasure anymore. But, more importantly, she seems to regularly question her self worth, self-esteem, and value to others.
While attending a conference as a presenter on the island of St. Johns, Andy meets handsome, hunky, corporate mogul, Shayne Matthews, who is also presenting as a stand in for his CEO father. Shayne pursues Andy and she relents and falls into a heavy and heady affair, but Shayne touches her body and heart as none has done before, so she is devastated when it all falls apart during her last night on the island.
This is the first book of a trio and I can honestly say that, unlike many other series I have read, I have no real idea where this story is headed. But, I am more than sufficiently intrigued to find out. The storyline and character development of both protagonists is proceeding really well and I truly want to know more. So believe me when I say that I'm headed directly for Book 2 after completing this review.
I would note, as an aside, that I wish the author found someone to better edit the book though. There are too many editing, spelling and even a few spell check replacement errors (i.e. "common" for "condom") that pulled my head out of the story, and I'm a firm believer that nothing should involuntarily interfere with my enjoyment of a good story.
Oh my gosh! This was such a great story! Attraction, tension, fun and it's Canadian! That is so awesome to be able to know where they were and see it in my head. Such an intense affair between these characters that you could feel it radiate off of the pages. Super steamy and incredibly descriptive. Wicked love story...can't wait to see what happens next.
I'm not a huge fan of "Billionaire" trope, but this one made me rethink my aversion of them. Marx did a great jib reeling me in and setting me up for the fall. Loved the scene setting and didn't mind the fallling into bed so soon. Not crazy about so many cliffies, but we shall see with books 2, 3 and now 4 coming out soon.
Steamy scenes were obviously great but the entire story seemed unedited with so many typos which spoiled the atmosphere 😕 Shayne is also a very unique and unusual man which, at times could be possibly viewed as a little creepy in the bedroom, was refreshing for the millionaire trope ☺️ Andy is a great character too 🙂
Pacing slow to start. Disappointing as to how main characters relate. Stiff and stifled sex scene. Author clearly manipulating conversation. Hate cliffhanger and this breaks way too early.
