A lot of common sense reiterated on a point by point basis across numerous situations. This is very useful if you're the sort who turns to authority when frazzled or likes very concrete pointers. As someone who studied artificial intelligence, I just kept mentally categorizing tips based on AI training principles, which is doubtless not what they intended.

A few common tidbits mixed in that are, imho, total bunk, with later disconnected discussion of their obvious consequences as if it were something completely unrelated - "stranger danger" when the world is no less safe than ever followed by reassurances that they'll grow out of being shy, "be consistent" followed by discussions of tantrums at situations that violate consistency, etc. Not many though, and they're easy to catch (and laugh at).

Of course, we'll see how I feel about it in a couple of years...

As a first time mother with a young toddler at hand, any advice is always welcomed.

This books looks at the different aspects of the child's journey in growing up, learning new skills, hurdles in calming a robust and toddler full of tantrum.

It is a good read for any parent wanting to educate themselves and learn more on how to be a better parent.

I am new to parenting books, but I am sure I'll be reading more in the near future. I like this book for being honest and realistic. Bottom line is handling toddlers is tough but fun too. Do not go around comparing your kid against others. Best advice given are to pick your battle and have a sense of humor.
