After 8 1/2 long, grueling years in some of the most trying conditions, YATON ANDERSON AKA YAYO is released from the belly of the beast and back into society. His once-criminal and violent way of thinking has been transformed into one that promotes peace within the violent gang-infested streets of Chicago. Meanwhile Yayo's younger brother, QUAVON, carry's the G.B.C. torch while dominating the city's drug trade, leaving a path of destruction and mayhem in his wake. But when OMEGA, a vicious, up-and-coming young gangster seeks revenge on Quavon, the streets runneth over with blood. Will Quavon go to war with the death struck leader of the Homicide Crew? Or will he bow out gracefully and on his own terms? Will Yayo be able to stay on the path of righteousness while his brother is envolved in a deadly street war over money, drugs and respect? Or will he answer the call of the streets in Chi-Raq and assume the very position of power that he opposed?
This author did some that I usually don’t do and that I genuinely cried over Choppa and Quavon. Even though I knew it was going to happen, my heart was still so broken. I just felt it. My emotions were fluctuating everywhere. The storyline felt so realistic to me, the hurt and pain was felt within me. I’m proud of Yayo. But on the real, this’s the 1st time that I can remember reading a book where the main male character only dated one woman. There’s no women drama in this whole series, it just Yayo and Shakira from age 16 to present, now that’s kind of boring. But the actions make up for that. Full of actions
I had been waiting on this part as well as each of the other 3 and it was amazing. I loved how Yayo came home a changed man. His speech at Cook County jail touched my soul, if only this could really happen, but those who run the city of Chicago have been the most corrupt individuals in the world, they would probably kill the group like they did Malcolm, Martin Luther, Huey, Pac and Nipsey, cause it stops their cash flow. Waiting on part 5.
As always this author is great. I love this series. One the realest reads I’ve read. I hate how it ended. Had hopes for Yayo but murder got in the way. The message still came through. I can’t wait to see what 5 brings!! Must read!!! Well done sir!! You gotta read the whole series.
I usually like to leave a review after I completed the whole series but Yaton had to come out of retirement for Quavon death I was hoping it didn't turn out like that until the next part I'm patiently waiting!!
I know Yayo and Davon is gonna make the streets bleed as they seek revenge on the ppl that killed their brother. Yayo's and crew is gonna be a force to reckon with and the homicide crew done bit off more than they can chew and awoken a savage in Yayo
As Yayo makes it back into life with his family. Winning souls but the cards that are dealt will they cut Yayo back in the game? Bodies are dropping.Whats next for GBC?
This book kept my attention from book 1 to 4. I can't wait for book 5. I highly recommend this book to everyone who reads. It's raw and definitely in your fave hood. Makes you feel as though you personally know the characters.
