Strong characters and a great flowing story line. Lokima's life went from normal to completely different due to a man trying to steal her necklace AKA the Dragon Stone. She learns what she is willing to do to save her life . Looking forward to reading more by this author.

*I received a free copy of this book through Voracious Readers Only in exchange for an honest review*

Lokima is a normal 16 year old girl on Earth until one day a flying guy tries to kill her and she is teleported to another world called Outer Earth. There, she is the leader of the X-team in a crazy adventure akin to Dragonball Z.

I enjoyed the premise of these books, and if I pictured an anime in my head, then the dialogue didn't feel too over-the-top. However, it desperately needs editing. There are typos, such as 'cycling' instead of 'ceiling' and 'Windsor' instead of 'Windsoar'. But also inconsistencies, such as saying that Zuni brought in a white dress for her to where, then one page later, saying that Loki was putting on the blue dress. Loki spends 12 years on Earth, this is mentioned MANY times, but there are a couple places where she yells that she spent 16 years on Earth. Also, at one point a main character is found to be a doppelganger, and no one asks what has happened to the real one. When the real person shows up later, no one is happy that they are okay, or even mentions the incident at all. And if the food is so strange on Outer Earth, and they have completely different races, then how can Onizuka's favourite food be Mexican? Are there Mexicans on Outer Earth?

We are supposed to be rooting for Loki and Lox, but most of their love/bonding time occurs in backstory, we don't get to see any of it. We skip 7 months and are just supposed to believe their undying love for each other.

Anyway, with some solid editing, this would be a great read, although I think I would prefer it in Manga form. The battles and over-the-top reactions really cry out for a more visual medium.

This is not a genre I normally read. But I am glad I did take a chance on it. It is very well written and has a very strong leading character. I really enjoyed the storyline also. Loki was leading a regular normal life. But this changes when a man tries to kill her and steal her necklace. Her life pretty much does a 180, a complete turnaround. When she finds out why he tried to kill her and what was happening she has to fight. Can she make it through it? Can she even survive? Or is her life over before it really starts? This was a good book and a great storyline. I recommend this book.
