These lectures were given when Joel Goldsmith was beginning the Infinite Way. In them he teaches we are unfolding states of consciousness and our outer experience is never going to be any greater than our inner unfoldment. His purpose was to lift students so they could unfold spiritually and become consciously aware of their true identity. These lectures embody the subjects of the practice of meditation, developing the healing consciousness, spiritual living, spiritual freedom and the true nature and purpose of prayer.

This is the first in a trilogy of unedited transcripts drawn from the most profound of Joel Goldsmith's earliest work and leading to the climax of his final work found in Consciousness Transformed. Unlike any of Mr. Goldsmith's edited books, the unedited works are rich in the original consciousness of the class and make one feel as if they were present during the class.

Rising in Consciousness calls for a rising above purely personal attainment, personal salvation, or personal regeneration to the universal: that the fourth dimensional, or mystical consciousness of Oneness may be established universally. Joel Goldsmith presents the challenging thesis that the mystical consciousness need not be a phenomenon reserved for one individual or a select few. In Mr. Goldsmith's view, this consciousness of Oneness can be achieved by sincere seekers whose dedication to that purpose will eventually establish universally the reign of Christ-consciousness on earth.
