A Treatise on the Right Use of the Fathers in the Decision of Controversies Existing at This Day in Religion

Unlike some other reproductions of classic texts (1) We have not used OCR(Optical Character Recognition), as this leads to bad quality books with introduced typos. (2) In books where there are images such as portraits, maps, sketches etc We have endeavoured to keep the quality of these images, so they represent accurately the original artefact. Although occasionally there may be certain imperfections with these old texts, we feel they deserve to be made available for future generations to enjoy.

17 Chapters dedicated to 17 reasons why Scripture must be the foundation for proving articles of faith, and not the Church Fathers. It’s essentially 400 pages of “receipts,” as Daillé provides examples that showcase each reason.

3.5 stars. A valuable resource for anyone interested in the study of Patristics—particularly as applied to polemical discourse. Though I confess I found Daillé somewhat dry—and pedantic—at times, and some chapters were substantially more interesting than others. Nonetheless, it was an edifying experience.
