Interesting concept hurt by poor execution
While the basic concepts were interesting, the cardboard characters, plot holes and inconsistancies, and horrendous editing errors make this look like a early draft novel by a very amateurish writer. This was of a much lower caliber than other works by the same author. The quality declines significantly between the beginning of the book and its end, as if worked in phases, with the ending rushed out in a few hours.
1 star for just showing up, and self-publishing
1 star for concept, especially the first 1/3

Oh so interesting
If you're military or former military then this story is very understandable. Otherwise it might be a bit difficult for a civilian to comprehend. Hopefully this won't happen. Great characters. Book 2?
