This book was very good. The characters where so well developed and the storyline is amazing. The synopsis does not do this book justice. Usually, I'm not into sci-fi I'm more into fantasy but this book was so well written that made the genre feel easy and quick to read from. The pace of the story was great. The plot twists! I did not see that coming.

Entertaining and heartwarming

The synopsis does not do this book justice. It's about a boy who wants to race, not farm. But that is only beginning. The characters were well developed. The way the author touched on social and moral issues young adults face today while still maintaining the plot and pace was relatable and made this book so much more than a Sci-fi young adult adventure. The pace of the story was great. The plot twists! I did not see that coming. There were some points where the dialogue was a bit redundant, but overall this was an easy and enjoyable read.

Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy to review.

If I could describe this book in one word it would be cool.

Literally this book was so cool, the race, the speeds the lingo it was all very exciting.

I could have done with some more narrative as opposed to dialogue and the dialogue itself was ‘kardashinesque’ in that it was overly explanatory and normal people don’t talk like that but it set a tone for the book and followed through consistently.

I thought the premise sounded a little like Star Wars but was pleasantly surprised that Higgins made this entirely his own.

All in all while I enjoyed the book I would say that perhaps it was geared towards a younger reader (if you edit some of the language). While the politics of racing and how the races came about was interesting it was showcased in a rather simplistic manner.

That being said I’m still hoping for a sequel. Revolution science going pro would be a fun read.

A wild sci-fi ride about the sport of pod racing. It starts out with a young man's desire to leave a simple life of farming behind. Reme is a strong morally driven character that is likable and will have you rooting for him all the way. The worlds and scenery described in this book were blissful. My favorite character was Vick Dozz, a southern speaking space cowboy type of character. The book is well paced with great action scenes and the way the author writes them kept me page turning too late into the night sometimes!

I enjoyed every minute of this read!

R.K. Higgins has built an incredibly vibrant cyber-punk world in his head; and we get the privilege of taking a glimpse into that world. Full of colour and texture, this world has a lot more to offer than what Higgins gives us in this book, which is a great thing for the next book! A story full of high octane racing with high stakes, be prepared to get addicted to the sport of pod racing, and hold on! This ride is not going to be smooth.

While I thoroughly enjoyed the premise of the book, I felt like things moved a bit too fast (no pun intended). Characters were introduced and dialogue occurred, but there was hardly any world building and the story flew by far quicker than expected. Would love a sequel that spent more time on building the stakes rather than throwing the main character in the deep end immediately without too much buildup.

Would definitely recommend, but it did feel a bit too rushed at times.

This is a world of unreasonably fast vehicles, awesome cyberpunk fashion, and seething political tension. I only wish the stakes were higher; conflicts tend to be solved quickly and with minimal effort from our protagonists. If you want some low-stakes action, however, this may be the book for you.
