The Barn at Walnut Hill, from an artist to architect eye

The recipient of more than 20 national and international awards, the barn at Walnut Hill is an adaptive restoration project. The Poole family who partnered with a team applied a method known as the ‘The Seven Rs’: resuse, recondition, return, resell, reclaim, recycle; and only as a last resort, remove. As a result, the team are present day known as environmental leaders – people who contribute with the Native American perspective of ‘providing for the needs of the current generation without sacrificing the needs of future generations’.
