Yarmouth Massachusetts Vital Records

Rate this book
992 pp. Endsheets with 1846 map. Index. 1993 (1979). #1402 $59.50 Located on Cape Cod some 30 miles southeast of Plymouth and 60 miles southeast of Boston, Yarmouth, Barnstable Co., was settled in 1639, and is thus one of our country's oldest towns. Among its early settlers were descendants of Jonathan White, son of Peregrine, and of John and Desire (Howland) Gorham. Its Town Records were destroyed by fire, thus the earliest Vital Records begin about 1674. The records are transcribed literally, and therefore semi-chronologically, and are grouped by births, marriages, intentions and deaths. The Name Index makes the massive quantity of information readily accessible to the researcher.
