Thank you to the author for the free e-copy in exchange for an honest review.
As a mom of a toddler, I’m always looking for ways to offer new learning experiences to her. And while a lot of this is hands on, she learns a lot from the books we read.
She has recently developed a great love of painting and creating art, so this book was so much fun to read together. The central idea of the story is to teach children about colour theory and mixing primary colours to make new colours. (Shout out to the page where they make purple - my daughter is obsessed with EVERYTHING purple!)
The illustrations are whimsical and eye catching, and the words are simple and fun.
I loved the blank page at the end for children to paint their own daisy, just like the characters in the book. Any children’s book that extends the story into our own world feels magical to me.
I recommend this for young children as a tool for teaching, learning, and fun with art!

Kita is painting a blue daisy. Bushy is painting a red Pdaisy. Kita wants a red and blue daisy. Bushy wants a blue and red daisy. Something happened when they painted them. It was a happy accident. What was it? It has to do with the color purple. Enjoy this delightful book.
I love this book. I wish I’d had it to teach my children about colors when they were young. Now I can use it with my grandchildren. The story is darling and the illustrations are funny and gorgeous to look at. I love how the story intertwines learning about colors in a playfully creative way!
I think I was in the fifth grade when I can remember going over how colors combined make magical transformations. This book makes it simple enough for preschoolers to get the concept and understand which combination produce what colors. The pictures come to life in a delightful manner. Just watch out for those silly bunnies. They always cause a giggle.
Such an adorable story to engage little learners to find out what happens when mixing colors. The vibrant and colorful illustrations were a perfect match too. You will love the sweet animal crew too.

Adorable pictures bring the characters to life. A very clever and easy to understand story for young children, about mixing colors to get a new color. I think this book will inspire little artists to try it themselves.
What a great book to learn about color combinations. When two colors are mixed, another color is created and Kita brings that to life in this colorful book.
