This book is very old, authentic and fragile. The language used is too articulate for me and I swear on every page or every second page I had to do a Google search to find the meaning of words such as 'sacrosanct'and I can't say I've ever seen nor can I pronounce most of the bigger words. Overall it's an interesting book, I felt like I was reading something way out of my league but still understandable to an extent.
As for the book as a whole, this book gave me a lot of different feelings, joy, anger, happiness, etc because there are heartfelt stories and there are sad and disappointing ones too. Clearly this book is aimed at animal lovers in general but I recommend that anyone who harms animals for money or fun should also read it (I know they won't but just saying) because it gives quite a strong message that all forms of life have the right to live way they are born to.
Have read both this and the third book before. The stories are good, but clearly very old and out of date. As the book was written in 1970 it’s NOT a spoiler to say that all the Animals the stories are about are long gone.
