★★★★★ "A real page-turner, unapologetic and fascinating. The kind of book you cannot put down and will find you re-reading all over again."
Adama, a doctor in a perfect Global world, enjoys a comfortable life until the woman he loves, Rahab, is labeled a terrorist. She is imprisoned in a labor camp that has been erased from the maps.
As the truth becomes a mere mirage and his past a fake recollection of memories, Adama is forced to decide which side he stands on. In his quest for Rahab, he unwillingly becomes a revolution leader to cause a war that slowly slips out of his control. He discovers secrets about the world and himself that force him to make impossible decisions. PROMETHEUS RISING by D. F. Wink is a near future techno thriller - book one in an exhilarating dystopian trilogy.

So i bought the book thinking it was the 1980 classic from wilson, so i was quite astonished to see a different cover. But yes i read it anyway and as it turns out i couldn't leave it. It's grasping story which had a cinematic feel to it, the dystopian setting seemed quite plausible, which makes it easier to relate to. Some minor flaws where some writing mistakes, the naming of the car-brand tesla (as only brand, is this a clever product-placement? nevermind) and for my taste quite specific religious imagery, which would have maybe been nicer if it hadn't been a copy of the bible (don't be scared it is not a religious book or anything, it was just this picture painted with words, the rest has no religious message whatsoever). so i would definitely recommend this book and am curious how it goes on.

When Terror comes calling, it may already know your name.

Adama may lead a perfect life but it is about to explode around him. Everything he believes is about to be ravaged as he learns the truth about his past. And his future will take a radical turn as he tries to cope.

Writer Diana Wink leads us down a tortuous maze of discovery that will reveal the dark mysteries behind a seemingly peaceful society. This world of contentment is not all it purports to be. And behind the façade lies some frightening secrets of a civilization gone wrong.

As Adama struggles to survive, his memories and emotions become his greatest weapon and his worst enemy. Can he trust anyone? Even himself. Life will never be the same and neither will he.

This gripping tale will keep you on the edge of your seat.

I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review for any number of stars. I am more than happy to oblige. We are dropped straight into action and into the mind of Adama. The pace of the story has good ebbs and flows. Some sections draw you into taking time to notice the beauty and majesty of the surroundings and the other characters, while other sections race by and you realize that you have been holding your breath for you do know how long. There are hints along the way that there is no way we are getting the full story in this single book. The ending is not a cliffhanger (I appreciate that) but I WANT MORE! Yes, I need to follow through with this trilogy and this author.

Justice or revenge

A story filled with action and adventure, Prometheus Rising is one I won't soon forget. The story revolved around Adama, who leads the way for a new kind of justice from his futuristic world. I enjoyed the story, filled with twists and turns, and well-developed action. There is a progression of the story, and it makes for good storytelling. It's well written, and flows dramatically. I look forward to more stories from this new author.

Prometheus Rising is a well crafted tale of the limitations and capabilities. The author creates an interesting world with characters that are easy to love and hate. Just be careful when making that selection because things are not always what they appear to be. This is an excellent book for any sci-fi reader.
Please note that this book was given to me in exchange for an honest review.

An intriguing world and a furious pace mean fans of dystopian fiction will find plenty to like, but a sporadically clunky style marred my immersion.
