Rate this book
Sons of Pendragon - Seven brothers with secrets, taken from their own time and raised in the present to continue their father's work. All they require are the weapons their father gave them as children. Keepers - Seven women with a secret mission. Each the eldest female in a line of women charged with guarding special weapons through the centuries until their owners appear. For once, Dane Pendragon and his brothers knew who the Sword Maiden was. They were going to be able to put her under protection before his cousins learned of her. Quency McPherson's normal life turned upside down. First, there was the sword, then the painting, and finally learning that she was a Halfling. She never saw any of it coming. Little did she and Dane know that there was something else about her that would put her in more danger than being a Sword Maiden ever could. DRAGON'S CHALLENGE is a full-length, stand-alone romance with paranormal & fantasy elements. There is no cliffhanger and it ends with an HEA.

Big surprise, I'm a romantic. I love stories about knights and Highlanders. I love mysteries. I also love strong Alpha males, but I want them to have equally strong women for their partners.

The mystery surrounding King Arthur has always been a favorite subject and it led me to wonder what would have happened if there was more to the story. What if the sword, and other swords, were more important? What if he had sons who survived? These questions and more led to the birth of my Sons of Pendragon series.

I've also been fascinated by tales of the Fae from Ireland and Scotland. How would they interact with humans? What if they were forced into an alternate dimension and some of them were angry about it? The old, familiar, but still relevant trope of Good vs. Evil. This led to the birth of my companion series, The Sidhe Hunters.

I've always wanted to write a mystery. Finally, the Low Country of South Carolina, combined with the ghost stories my father used to tell me, led to a paranormal cozy mystery with some quirky characters, a bit of romance, and a touch of spooky

On a more personal note, I love animals. I currently have two very spoiled rescue dogs. One tries to lick people into submission, and the younger one believes he's still a lapdog at 95lbs. I also love photography. You'll often see my photographs on my social media pages. I love history, archaeology, genealogy, and a lot of other -gys.

The third book in the series is not a disappointment. Getting to know the characters, is easy with Ms. McClain’s eloquence in descriptions and actions. This is, by far the best book yet. I can’t wait for the others!

Sloane McClain has woven her magic yet again in this new book – the third in the series ‘The Songs of Pendragon’. Her ability to draw you into the story from the first page is ingenious!!! This new sword maiden holds powers which far surpass the other two – even unto her husband Dane. The legend within this book transcends all others, and Sloane McClain’s writing pulls you in, as though you are part of what is playing out in your mind. It has the propensity to shut all other thoughts out, as when you stop reading it takes a few moments to come back to reality. It is a beautiful book where Legend and Reality collide so harmoniously you do not want the book to end. As with the other two it is an eloquently written adaptation of a long-lost era. Her story telling skills are second to none. Amazing read!!!
