This book, while dated, still contains some helpful research that has been expanded on over the years, including essays on women in the Reformation period, how Luther was understood in the late 16th century, music and artwork, and theory. Several of the essays are by key scholars in their fields and reveal the variety of directions that social history can take. That said, some of the material is dated and should be understood as such. Overall, this is a helpful collection on the early developments of social history in the reformation period.
