The Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania is a nonprofit corporation formed in 1884 under the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, U.S.A. It is used by Jehovah’s Witnesses to support their worldwide work, which includes publishing Bibles and Bible-based literature.

According to its charter, the corporation’s purposes are “religious, educational, and charitable,” in particular, to “preach and teach the gospel of God’s Kingdom under Christ Jesus.” Membership in the corporation is by invitation only and is not based on how much a person has donated. The corporation members and directors assist the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses.

An interesting Bible prophecy stated that the time would come when world leaders would actually proclaim “peace and security!” In fact, when the United Nations declared 1986 an “International Year of Peace” it asked that organizations everywhere make a special effort from that year on to promote the goal of “peace, international security and cooperation.”⁠
Ask yourselves, how much closer to world peace are we since 1986?
Why is peace so elusive. Can the world really be safe while the multi-billion dollar arms industry continues to grow? Will earth ever be filled with true peace, not a few tenuous ceasefires?
The Bible has good things to say about our future. This book shows what they are.

“‘For I well know the thoughts that I am thinking toward you,’ declares Jehovah, ‘thoughts of peace, and not of calamity,k to give you a future and a hope. And you will call me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you"...Jeremiah 29:11-12

This book has some good points but I guess I'm more comfortable reading the contemporary versions.
