It was interesting to read this back to back with "Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine" - both protagonists had controlling, self-centered mothers. Both protagonists reacted by keeping their thoughts to themselves - and there the similarities end. No, actually, both books also show just how very crucial friendships are - unlikely friendships... not romantic, not with peers.

I didn't actually like this book - 3rd and final in the series. Although it was better than the second book (Daisy). There was a lot to think about - the peace we can experience when we could trying to micro-manage God's will and simply trust all will be well ; and how important it is to be ready to face death. However, the romance was way to sappy for me. Miss Warner seems to hold to that (I think misguided) idea that true love never comes a second time.
