Interlude contains snap shots of the young author's life in prose encompassing many styles and subjects. Maxine, first published when Andy was 18 is a lamentation of first love, whilst other subjects range from the banality of making the bed to his relationship with family and friends. Interlude is humerous, soulful but also refreshingly superficial when the subject suits. There will be few poetry collections so modern and eclectic in stlye. For the traditionalists however, entries such as Strawberry Om and the Cuckold would not be out of place in a collection by Poe or Plath.
