Samuel Finley Breese Morse (April 27, 1791 – April 2, 1872) was an American painter who turned inventor. After having established his reputation as a portrait painter, in his middle age Morse contributed to the invention of a single-wire telegraph system based on European telegraphs. He was a co-developer of the Morse code, and helped to develop the commercial use of telegraphy.
Morse was a leader in the anti-Catholic and anti-immigration movement of the mid-19th century. In 1836, he ran unsuccessfully for mayor of New York under the anti-immigrant Nativist Party's banner, receiving only 1496 votes. When Morse visited Rome, he allegedly refused to take his hat off in the presence of the Pope.
Morse worked to unite Protestants against Catholic institutions (including schools), wanted to forbid Catholics from holding public office, and promoted changing immigration laws to limit immigration from Catholic countries. On this topic, he wrote, "We must first stop the leak in the ship through which muddy waters from without threaten to sink us."
He wrote numerous letters to the New York Observer (his brother Sidney was the editor at the time) urging people to fight the perceived Catholic menace. These were widely reprinted in other newspapers. Among other claims, he believed that the Austrian government and Catholic aid organizations were subsidizing Catholic immigration to the United States in order to gain control of the country.
In the 1850s, Morse became well known as a defender of slavery, considering it to be sanctioned by God. This was a position held by many Southerners and others. In his treatise "An Argument on the Ethical Position of Slavery," he wrote:
"My creed on the subject of slavery is short. Slavery per se is not sin. It is a social condition ordained from the beginning of the world for the wisest purposes, benevolent and disciplinary, by Divine Wisdom."
Despite honors and financial awards received from foreign countries there was no such recognition in the U.S. until he neared the end of his life, when on June 10, 1871 a bronze statue of Samuel Morse was unveiled in Central Park, New York City. An engraved portrait of Morse appeared on the reverse side of the United States two-dollar bill silver certificate series of 1896. He was depicted along with Robert Fulton. An example can be seen on the website of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco's website in their "American Currency Exhibit":
A blue plaque was erected to commemorate him at 141 Cleveland Street, London, where he lived from 1812 to 1815.
On April 1, 2012, Google announced the release of "Gmail Tap", an April Fools' Day joke that allowed users to use Morse Code to send text from their mobile phones. Morse's great-great-grandnephew Reed Morse—a Google engineer—was instrumental in the prank, which became a real product.
Wonder why America is a majority nation of professing Christians (loosely using the term) but has legalized wickedness like abortion, state lotteries, Sodomite ("gay") marriage etc? This book provides a huge piece of the puzzle in answering that question.
America is dying of self-inflicted wounds. And one of those major self-inflected wounds is found in our immigration policies. As Freesmasons and nominal professing Protestant Christians took over our government institutions and agencies, the wisdom that would cause a nation to only allow immigrants that share the national worldview of religion, politics and culture disappeared. Thus opened to floodgates for the detrimental influence of various godless men and movements, including the Roman Catholic migrants and their Jesuit lords.
And to that particular Papal influence this book is dedicated. Written by the man who invented the code named after him ("Morse Code" in case you weren't clear on that) and the major technological improvement called the Telegraph, this is SHOULD be a classic volume read by all non-Papist conservative Americans. But it's a hidden jewel that most people don't even know exists.
And, of course, the pimple-brained sheep (even among conservatives) who DO know about it will often call it Xenophobic. And to that I would confess in the affirmative. Fear is NOT a flaw if it is based on FACT. A healthy fear of Communism, Socialism, Sodom, is an act of WISDOM. And if you don't fear the effects of the Vatican Cult then you are simply clueless. Live in Italy for awhile and you do as most Americans do: come back to America. I am not talking about visiting as a tourist, but living as an Italian in Italy for a few years (if it takes that long). Ditto Mexico or any other nation controlled by Papists. They become dark, corrupt cesspools.
And that is where America is, today. With pockets of resistance and Light remaining, but under the crushing influence of an unregenerate, godless AND religious mass of nominal Roman Catholics voting for liberals and progressives who legislate immorality and fill the Judiciary with reprobates.
I will add two points:
1. The fact there are exceptions among Catholics does not cancel out the RULE that most Catholics are servants of Satan.
2. Apostate Protestants and the Cults are combining with the Papists to destroy our nation. That doesn't mean we then ignore the reality of the detrimental effects of the Papists. It means that things are terrible because of apostasy and heresies of the cults, but add to that the Roman Catholic element and you get a DISASTER.
And in support of this case made above, we have the testimony of Samuel Morse in this volume. A book all conservative Christian Americans ought to own and read. I do not agree with every point which is the case with most any book written by a fellow fallible man. But this is a solid work that I highly recommend.
Second half of the edition I had seemed like a collection of more recent stuff but yeah, about what I expected for white nationalist conspiracy theory bullshit. And deeply anti- Catholic at that.
