I am enjoying this series. I picked up the first book at the advice of a friend, and finished it the first day. When this book became available, I took my time ordering it as I was in the middle of a couple other books I was enjoying, but I picked it up yesterday and finished it this morning.

I do not wish to spoil the read for other readers, so I will be brief.
Faye Lamplighter, the main character, is a half-fey girl who is told that she is the fulfillment of a prophecy which will save her city in a war between the city and the Fey who want it.
She trains in magic and swordplay, and during the course of this book, becomes more adept.
War looms. The first hints are at civil war, but the Fey soon become involved.

Faye, with her magic dog, fey sword and a stone that contains the animus of an ancient half-fey are her weapons. The king, the city and her adoptive father are her loves.

The book is well-written and carries the reader along easily. Read it. I am sure you will enjoy it.

Few sequels surpass the original, but this was an amazing exception. Heart Loss is a story that throws you for a loop, the innocent young Faye's story is becoming darker and darker and I love it. The characters are still as complex and interesting as they were in The Heartless Fey, but they grow and begin tug at your heartstrings. I can sincerely say that I love this series so far and am already anxious for the next book.
