This was an amazing book. As someone who suffers from both depression and anxiety, I didn't realize how effective physical fitness could be in treating me. The book talks about how physical activities are similar to anti-depressants and therapy in treating anxiety and depression. It then details a bunch of different methods for keeping yourself on track with your fitness program. I thought to myself "I know the exercise techniques," but this book changed how I do it. It helps you be more successful in doing it. I can't recommend it enough for people who suffer from low energy and mood disruptions.

This tells you how to think about physical fitness, when to do it, how to arrange your environment to support it, etc., which are helpful to someone who doesn't always feel like they have the energy to do it.

This book is a total package! The physical exercises included in this material came in detail and pictures. I cannot say more about the book’s elaborative manner. I mean, the book has it all – explanations, illustrations, and friendliness.

Everything is explained perfectly and each exercise was seen easily from the viewpoint of the target audience. I must say that this kind of effort could engage different troubled individuals as they are all seeking a positive lifestyle ahead of them. Therefore, it is an intelligent and creative way to carefully show how it is being done and what troubles they could encounter, for them to be aware of what hardships are waiting for them and how to cope, as well as to be knowledgeable in physical exercises. I also want to highlight the importance of the author’s suggestions when it comes to working out or training schedules.

I liked this! While I don't have a diagnosed mental illness, I have my anxieties and depression, and this book framed things in a way I could relate well to. I'm not entirely sure how effective this book would be for someone dealing with more severe issues simply because I don't personally have that experience; however, I have recommended the book to people I know who are working through various mental health problems and I hope it helps them! It was just a very clear, very positive guide with some great ideas and a focus on being yourself and your willpower to be physically fit.

This book is another tool in the kit. It is divided into steps, making it an excellent reference material to have on the shelf. The writing style is accessible and amusing. Scott shares several personal anecdotes detailing his journey toward a happier, healthier state of mind.

Fairly enough, the book is a representation of how important our mental health was. The book not only helps me perceive what possible ways could I do to enhance my individuality but also helps me to have a reality check. There are a lot of guides that are not achievable by someone mentally unstable. Therefore, having a book that highlights the connection between the body and mind is a really helpful thing. It answers the questions of many on why they are still insufficient to bring their physical exercises to the highest level. It is because, just like what was said in this book, there are times wherein the body is ready but the mind is not, and the mind is ready but the body is not. Therefore, exerting an effort simultaneously could, indeed, achieve the effective and well-enhanced physical fitness that we could have.

I love how positive this book sounds whenever I read it. It feels like the author is encouraging every nerve in my body to stay not only physically but also mentally fit at all times. The author is like a little voice to start something you have never done before due to some circumstances which are valid in the first place. Indeed, a silent motivation creates the loudest impact on its audience for it offers different perspectives about changing the basic lifestyle of a person who feels excluded from the world due to anxiety, depression, and ADD. This book had unbelievably caught my attention and wanted to promote this kind of mentality throughout our generation due to its strong grasp of the presence of positivity behind it. but you are sure and ready to try now.

The ideas concerning the physical and mental capacity of humans to exercise are one of those theories that put my expectations to another level. Especially when the author mentioned the mental and physical posture which I found brilliant because we are all aware of the conditions and appearance of a physical posture. But how can we say if we are mentally ready for everything which could approach us unexpectedly, right? That is why I found this book very enticing for it opens questions to the mind of the reader but will eventually answer it all the way through. It is like the reader is slowly capturing the idea of the book with a proper way of obtaining it, all thanks to the no other than the wise direction of narration of Mr. Scott Shoemaker.

I think this has turned out to be one of the most personally impactful books I've ever read.

Regardless of whether or not you experience depression and/or anxiety, exercise provides great mood benefits - something everyone can benefit from!

I have had quite a bit of traumatic things happen in the past few years and feel like I crawled into a hole. After reading this book I have felt myself coming out of this hole. I attribute this to therapy and things I've learned in this book.

Overall, Pattern Fitness is very concise, straightforward, and practical. I think this method would work for anyone who needs some help creating an exercise routine. But if you struggle with depression or anxiety, then I highly recommend it.

It is comforting to read some words that once you have read about them, you will initially trust their purpose and effects because the writer, himself, is continuously mentioning his own experiences too.

Therefore, as he also mentioned in his book, it is kinda hard to build a comprehensive way to overcome the struggles brought by mental health, when he, himself, is suffering from one. And as a reader, that specific gesture is a reassuring act for me. It inspires me not only because of his words and ideas but more importantly due to his ability to cope with a lot of hardships and uncertainties yet here we are reading his third masterpiece. It indirectly gives me hope that if others can do it, then I can do that too.

I am a survivor. I know how it feels and how to think like “that”. I mean, everybody will only understand something only when they experienced it first-hand, right?

Some might say that this is too irrelevant, however, it does not mean that you never experienced the struggling mental capacity of a human, and it does not mean that it does not exist. And this book is one of the many which stands to promote safe spaces along with mental health awareness and breaking the barriers between the real world and the people suffering from it. The author, among other writers who have a goal like this, surely created an invisible thread to connect those people to possible developments within their well-being. A truly inspiring purpose to look at in this book!

I have read a lot of books about physical fitness due to the same reasons that everyone contains whenever they read books like this. I already know the drill in terms of engaging in activities that will enhance my physical attributes, however, this is the first time I had read something about the mental aspect too. So, I am glad that there is no cliché feeling while reading this book because it offers a different flavor to an individual’s development. Therefore this book is my most recommended one.

The way the author wrote with so much concern mirrors the purpose of why this book had been created in the very beginning the book wants to help. And it is helping us directly to our mind because reading, alone, is a principle of mind therapy and exercise.

We live in a society that finds ways to pressure us to move more, do more, and be more. Yet this book is different. This book is a great read. It is well-written and structured. It encouraged me to find a different way behind my reasons to exercise.

I no longer shame myself into getting to the gym or going for a run. I savor that I get to choose how to nurture my body and I want to, for my mental health, and my immune system and for encouraging good quality sleep.

I highly recommend this book to those looking for their 'why' behind exercising. As a person who likes to exercise, I still found this book fascinating and it gave me even more reason to keep on moving. Knowing the science of how physical activity affects the brain and body motivates me in a way that hits close to home.

I agree with all the sentiments that the author had come to share. There is nothing I can say about how the author presents different, valuable, and unique statements and then supports them with a strong framework of ideas and theories. With that, it undoubtedly results in the book's clear comprehension of different forms of exercise, pieces of training, and principles. I also liked it best when the author supports the importance of ‘process’ rather than its beginning and its finish. Indeed, each phase shows different development, but then the process was highlighted the most because this is where our hardships, efforts, and learning process starts to grow. It will be the basis of what we could achieve in the end.

For me, the twenty chapters of the book also represent the stages to which it has to bring the audience or reader’s body upon their will to move. And clearly, this is not a very easy process. But with the book detailing, absorbing its information is not a very hard thing to do. It is as if the author also prioritizes the language barriers among readers to touch many lives. The communication skill of the author is very effective in a way that it cannot bombard the readers all at once.

Hence, the book’s content contains the significance of exercising our physical and mental capacities. Also, I love how truthful the author is in terms of each technicality or definition of the terms that he always finds a way to connect himself to it.

This is a great book full of immediately applicable resources and exercises related to fostering and maintaining one's mental health. I'd highly recommend this book to anyone interested in examining and/or strengthening one's mental health. I could see Health teachers using this book, or at the very least, selected exercises from this book to enhance instruction throughout a mental health unit.

Even more, in the spirit of developing a mental health component to their curriculum, I could see all teachers across all content areas using exercises from this book to develop a "mindful moment" at the start or end of class. It's about time that we fully embrace mental health as an essential component of our global well-being.

The book continuously impresses me with its well-divided ideas and I could say that this is not your typical guide toward a healthy and productive lifestyle.

Because I seek a book that can give me three things: Inspiration, Energy, and Assurance. So, this book is different from any other normal book, firstly, because of its audience, and lastly through its creative concepts of showing the correlations between physical and mental conditions. Therefore, we, who do not experience anxiety, depression, and ADD at all; will never find overall similarities from the book in terms of experiences and needs. However, we could use these concepts similarly to our routines and exercises that we want to achieve.

What makes this book unique is its approach to mental fitness. I agreed when the book says in the beginning that our mind and body are well-connected with each other. Hence, both of them could affect our energy to have an accomplishment which most of the time leads to achieving nothing. And I would love to include that throughout reading this book, I have never felt invalidated as a person with extreme anxiety. I felt embraced and welcomed and our struggles sounded like motivation for the very time of my life. No joke, this book has the highest potential to touch more people in all communities around the globe. I do recommend this book and I am looking forward to more works like this in the future.

I would love to focus on the positive take of this book that makes it very easy to learn how it is to become Physically Fit even if we are in a different state of individualism. The book just made the very difficult days of people experiencing mental instability sound so easy and light-tasked when touched by physical fitness training and routines. It could help the people under that scope to step up their game and discover other potentialities in their skills. It is like having an open consultation with a real consultant, only you can re-read whenever or wherever you are when you need to clarify things. I know that we are here to find a better way out of this situation, and this material has one of the highest possibilities to do this.

The book and the reader shall build the rapport system first and will take a long time of persuasion, because as the title says, “Your Body, Your Mind, Your Workout”, therefore people will start to act towards fitness whenever they are ready. The book targeted people with anxiety, depression, and ADD which will never instantly move only at their first read of this book. Surely, it will take a repetitive reading before practicing a healthy lifestyle so I think this book has enough, it is not fast-paced – more persuasion as it says. It is because the book’s target readers have a free unconditioned mind, so it is an advantage to use this gap to explain to the audience how it is really important to attract the mind and the body to be healthy in the long run.

I would say it is a good book. I had fun reading it. It was easy to understand and structured. The book does not contain groundbreaking information in my opinion (I mean, this is subjective). Nothing that I have not read somewhere else before, but I believe it is extremely important to sufficiently deal with this topic because it is something that we all should worry about at some point. I would, perhaps, recommend this book as an introduction to the subject. A huge thanks to Scott Shoemaker for raising awareness of what has actually and rightfully so become a highly significant topic worldwide.

Recommend to people who wanna understand why physical activities help with mental health.

It's not my first book about mental and physical health, and it won't be my last. In comparison to some others, this book gives concrete tips and a concrete journey to live with anxiety, and only for that I highly recommend it.

Do you know how it is to read a lot about one subject but suddenly with one book all seems clearer? That's what happened to me with this book. The exercises and examples given by the author are without a doubt what helped me more. I don't have anything solved, but I feel like I could follow the step-by-step journey.

Worth reading whether you are suffering from anxiety, depression, or ADD or if you want to better understand your loved ones suffering from it.

A very useful book for someone like myself and many others dealing with anxiety and depression. In today's world, it is a great idea to pick this up. Found it very helpful.

This book is filled with great information! The fitness center where I was a member for several years, just closed down. Although I hadn’t been consistent with attending workout sessions recently, my goal was to get back into a routine again. Pattern Fitness has provided me with a way to exercise that’s free and easy to do. Scott Shoemaker is so knowledgeable. I highly recommend reading his book and taking his advice to improve your health and well-being!

This book is straightforward and filled with a wealth of knowledge for all people.

Scott Shoemaker's Pattern Fitness book is very readable and easy to follow, with clear instructions on how to get started with an exercise program. I have already seen a marked improvement in my mood and mental health since starting to follow the exercises in this book, and I am sure that others will too. I am a firm believer in doing consistent and moderate physical activities for good health as I age. And it seems to work.

Overall, this book gave me some great ideas and is walking me down the right path to health and fitness! This book is great for all ages and fitness levels.

The book showed the reasons why people like these are struggling to find the best Physical Fitness strategies for them. Also, it shows how it is being done as the author is also a person who already experienced and continues experiencing the same way. With that, all information stated in this book was viewed with enough credibility to change the lifestyle of those people who are seeking guidance towards health and fitness. Other than that, the book interprets what specific functionalities people under this platform can still do no matter what state they are in. Hence, each chapter is expressed thoroughly and laid out perfectly, just enough on how this person would need it.

This is a really interesting topic about learning how to approach exercise when you suffer from a mental illness. The reason I wanted to read this book is because I was feeling low and thought this book could help me with methods and techniques to feel better. It exceeded my expectations and I will keep coming back to it.

This book is very useful. It helps to feel that we have power over ourselves and that we have choices. There is some really useful information in this book. I think everyone would benefit from it.

I think the book pushed me to my limits. Like I want to meet another version of myself and my eagerness could be the source of my will to start a lifestyle that could highly and deeply impact my well-being. It is like the book has shown me another “me” that I have never imagined before. I cannot stop thinking now about how it could turn out if I became active in strengthening my physical and mental aspects. And that is the point, right? To bring change into somebody’s life and thinking about myself achieving this one is one small step toward satisfaction that I will do in my entire life.
