Mosaic Renaissance is a difficult book to find currently. I bought it immediately upon hearing that the author passed away. Laurel Skye created fabulous, detailed patterns with mosaic tile, glass, and other materials on objects such as teapots, shoes, mirror frames, and much more. My favorite pieces by this artist are small "Persian rugs" made with gold smalti. I'm sorry Skye is gone but this book is an inspiring remembrance of her work.
Nice information for someone who does glass mosaics. For polymer clay, nice follow up to Laura Mika's mosaic book. New ideas on how to utilize every inch of polymer clay millefiore work.
Although not my style, her mosaics are lush and gorgeous and I really enjoyed taking a class from her. This book has some good tips and some of her personality comes through in the text.
