Rate this book
"Living with a Functioning Alcoholic-A Woman's Survival Guide" is a book about hope, written specifically for women living in the chaos of alcoholic families, for whom going to a psychologist cannot be their first step. The book is a guide that can help them gain clarity and perspective on what is happening in their lives. Women will learn the facts versus the myths of alcoholism as well as signs and symptoms. The repercussions of alcohol abuse for the entire family are discussed. Women discover new ways to help themselves while caring for their partners. Each chapter ends with one or more "reflection" questions to help women apply the principles to their personal situations. The book carries a main theme of hope for women in relationships with partners who abuse alcohol.
