This book opens by briefly looking at necessary tools, how to keep them in perfect working order, and how to be safe in the workshop. But, this is really a very small section. The bulk of the book is devoted to projects, and this book has a ton. The projects run yhe spectrum of beginner projects (shelves and trays) to the more advanced (Hobbit houses, bathroom vanities and intricate end tables). I liked that there were so many projects that are beautiful and useful, and you can work your way up to the more advanced ones. I look forward to making some great pieces.
This book was obviously translated into English, but I have no idea from which language it was translated. I am an intermediate woodworker, and I have a lot of experience reading translated technical documents. Neither helped me with this book. Parts lists are incomplete, dimensions are rarely specified, and the instructions are unintelligible. This may be a good book in its native language, but it doesn’t work as presented.
This book is full of project plans for every room in your house and even your office and outdoors. It includes the safety tips, materials, tools and skills needed for each task. I recommend this book to anyone wanting to make changes to their house and learn a new skill in the process.
Some nice ideas but very little detail or actual information. Comments such as “cut wood” or “select wood” leaves some questions regarding what is being suggested. Can’t really say this book is targeted to new or experienced woodworkers. Look elsewhere for concepts, methods, or procedures.
Lots of great tips and safety information. The project ideas are awesome. There are great instructions and pictures of the projects. Table of contents is at the back, which I found a little odd.
I used this book to make some things with my husband. He's handy and i am not, so this book was a godsend for me. It explained the tools and when to use them. I never knew there were so many types of saws! We made the jerringbone headboard for our bed and i love it!
Thus is a great guide to woodworking. Even as a brginner after reading this bok i feel confident that I coukd so antbif the projects in it. It shows you everything from the very basic needs go very detailed designs.
This book is great to get started and some creative ideas for what you can build or create. I liked the pictures included because if you don't follow that plan/recipe to a tee, you get an idea of what it is and what you can change to make it to your liking.
This book talks about the basics of woodworking with tips and tricks to help along the way. There are over 100 illustrations of do it yourself projects in this book.
Very generic. Pictures are random from a walk around the city, not of actual projects. I would skip this one unless you are just reading for entertainment
