Rate this book
Ham Radio is Alive and Well , 2nd Edition , is an informational story, of one who thought the hobby had died due to the advent of cellular phones and the internet. To the author's surprise, he found the hobby had not only grown but is thriving. The book is packed full of information for both the novice and old-timer. It covers the hobby in its entirety, using bits of history while transitioning to what is happening today. Lesser-known aspects of amateur radio, such as DXpeditions, working split, FT8, Slow Scan TV, Meteor-scatter, EME, grid chasing, roving, and more are explained in a style that all can understand. Anybody wanting to expand their knowledge and make this hobby even more pleasurable needs to read this book.

Gary Drash, K9DJT has done a remarkable job of proving that Amateur Radio is in fact alive and well.

I’m an active Extra Class Operator who enjoys the hobby and I learned a lot.

From antenna work, picking the Best rig for your needs, to the best methods of working DX, this book gives you a remarkable point of view.

Whether your looking at getting licensed, you’re a Technician Class thinking of upgrading so you can work more HF, or a seasons veteran, I believe this is a book for us all.

For whoever wants to come back to Ham radio hobby

This book is really nice to read. You will be satisfied. Only point to consider; I found it a little short. I’m sure a new edition will take this in account.
