Quick summary for a quick book…
Pros - packed with detail, very well researched with a good mix of sources referenced. Extremely thorough. Interesting. Where examples were given of individuals treated as ‘asocials’ in Nazi Germany their experiences were used in a thoughtful way
Cons - for me there was not enough of the human experience here. Lots of facts and figures and detail on various measures, but without more exemplification it could feel a bit flat. Analysis at the end was interesting, but I’d have liked more throughout. A big question that I don’t think was answered was - did these measures have the support of ‘ordinary’ Germans (I hate that phrase too)?
Interesting though.
