Master storyteller Ace Collins offers deeply personal narratives of sixteen men whose living faith has made a vital difference in the world. Stories Behind Men of Faith uncovers the influences, the turning points, and the surprising twists that have created icons of faith, past and present, who continue to inspire us to live better Christian lives and to witness to others. Contemporary men such as Bono, Branch Rickey, Jim Valvano, and Fred Rogers and historical figures such as William Carey, John Newton, Albert Schweitzer, George Washington Carver, and Nicholas of Myra have inspired millions. They have led countless souls to follow in their steps and created legacies that have helped bring so much light into a dark world simply by courageously living their faith. Stories Behind Men of Faith will remind readers that with faith in God, anything is possible.

I was deeply moved by the stories of these men. Spanning denominational boundaries and centuries, common threads are evident in their lives: humility, hardship of some sort, a type of "ordinariness" and most of all, passion to grasp a hold of God's will and share their vision with others. It's proof that throughout the span of history, God has time and again used simple people to accomplish His kingdom's work. I thought Ace Collins did a good job keeping the stories succinct and providing just enough details to keep it interesting. I really enjoyed learning the thought process behind what drove each them to his ministry. Love seeing God at work! On to reading about the women next!
Fantastic writing; meticulous research - as is usual with Collins. Each "mini" bio contained in this book is engaging. Collins turns what could be somewhat tedious information into page turning reading. Life stories of Men who overcame great obstacles, to achieve great things both for God and for fellow human beings - changing our world for decades beyond their threescore and ten.
