This was an okay read for me. I did enjoy the story, but I am doubtful I would read it again. It was mostly well written, the lengthy denial by hero and heroine a bit drawn out for me, while other parts seemed a bit rushed, but again, I did enjoy the book, and feel it worth reading at least once if you enjoy shapeshifter romance.

Lyon Savage, a Jaguar Shifter and one of the alphas of the Pride, knows one day he’ll have to fight his twin. Only one alpha can rule the Pride or the Pride would be separated and weakened. The Elders decree that the two will have the final battle Under a Shifter’s Moon. They would not fight but rather mate with a chosen human with the Jaguar DNA. It was foreseen that the child conceived under this moon would become the Alpha of the Pride. Lyon thinks this ancient ritual barbaric, but knows he has no choice. When the selected mate arrives with two other women, Lyon realizes his TrueMate isn’t the one chosen to be his wife.
Kitlene carries the Shifter DNA, but she also a gene that could kill her if she ever conceived. Her young niece is chosen to be Lyon’s mate, but the girl isn’t ready to make the commitment. Kitlene won’t let her niece give up her life for an ancient ritual. With a plan in mind, she arrives at Lyon’s place of business with a proposition. Only the simple plan didn’t involve losing her heart and soul.
Ms. Thomas knows how to pull you into her paranormal world with edgy Jaguar twins ready to fight. They may appear human but you never forget the animal lurks beneath the façade ready to leap out with a ferocious growl. The sensual love story between Kitlene and Lyon will have the readers hoping for a happily-ever-after for the two.
