Discusses the issue of racism in The autobiogpraphy of Malcolm X and presents articles both supporting and opposing the issues, including contemporary perspectives on racism and the effects of the book on society.
This book is great to supplement our understanding of who Malcolm X was. If you have read his autobiography, I recommend you read this book to further your understanding of the man. If you have not read his autobiography, I recommend you do as it's a tremendous story, then this won't spoil anything in the book besides a few excerpts, but you need to read both as this book can help answer some of the questions you may have from the autobiography.
I love how this book has many different angles, from whether the autobiography is authentic to more contemporary views on Malcolm's influence in today's society. There are many different intellectual opinions and commentary that give a lot of insightful views on many aspects of Malcolm's life. Overall, if you read this book make sure you read the autobiography because they work off of each other so well and help us understand one of the greatest stories in American history.
