Our church used the book that went with this Video study guide in fall 2016. As a long time lay counselor, I was surprised at the insights and things I learned through the study. It was well worth the time we took and I'm glad I read the book.
I like Rick Warren. If you do too, then check out this six session video-based study for small groups. There is an accompanying book by Tom Holland called The Relationship Principles of Jesus, which is an insightful and convicting read.
This book was used with our church in both small bible study groups and sunday sermons. The book really challenged my thinking of love towards others and towards the Lord. It challenged me, and I often found myself stepping out of my comfort zone based on Rick Warren's weekly challenges. Overall, book wasn't too bad.
Good reminders about loving others and having a servant heart but wasn't life-changing or eye-opening. Again, it helped that I read this book with a study group and had a chance to discuss. Got so much more out of the discussions than the actual reading.
This work book accompanies The Relationship Principles of Jesus and a video. Each week there is a practical application that has you go into the community and truly practice what you are studying.
