Gail Landon is a young man who wants adventure and excitement, and life on his parent' ranch, the Hanging X, can't satisfy him. So he turns to the outlaw trail instead and saddles up with the notorious Trantler gang. But on the very night the gang is planning a big robbery, Gail receives word that his parents have been killed and he has inherited the Hanging X. There's no way to escape the gang, but Gail's had enough of outlaws and is ready to begin a new life. His only chance is to go through with the robbery and then try to get away afterward. The Hanging X is about Gail Landon, at the age of 19 he was kicked off his step-fathers ranch and given $1,000. While he was alone to adventure he started working with Trantler and Solossom, the leaders of a notorious gang called The Tarantulas. While he is in the gang he gets a letter from his home town informing him about the death of his mother and step-father, but is now also the owner of The hanging X ranch. He journeys back to the ranch to run it like his step-father did but while he is back home, he encounters many foes that cause troubling tension on the ranch. This is a very good book, I would recommend this to anyone who really enjoys western style books.
