Angels' Cut: the Slice

SCOTTISH CRIME and MYSTERY with an international dimension To see more reviews press the 'Kindle' button " A frightening insight into the Establishment driven business of crime and its horrific consequences. " SG Lewis, UK Eilidh's explosive dossier reveals massive corruption and criminality breeding in the dark heart of the UK Establishment.
Her investigation exposes layer after layer of fraud in government procurement, and other shady dealings? Pin-striped backsides are on the line. Organized crime is involved. The police too.
As a result, Eilidh is taken with callous efficiency and dragged off into an insane world of despair and whimsical cruelty. Her big brother Sam comes to London for a visit. Okay, he has a dark past, but he isn't expecting a brutal reception. Suprise! "Not your common or garden thriller, not by a long shot. A thriller it undoubtedly is, but with characters who are far better developed and fleshed out than many others of this ilk, characters who live, breathe and about whom the reader ends up caring deeply. The fact that the storyline is brilliantly crafted and the level of detail is enough (and accurate enough, too) to keep the most dedicated hardware anorak on side is just icing on the cake." D Gixxer, UK Greed, need … follow the money It's gonna hurt because the greedy feel needy. Money is all. What price a criminal investment?
For instance, how much do criminal insiders steal? Talk about organized crime? … or is the £190 billion ($265 billion) reported by Experian in November 2017 simply fake news?
" I could immediately identify with his main characters, even those shady, dangerous individuals in the upper echelons of society. In this respect the story is also a measure of how eroded has become our trust in our leaders, the high and mighty of our land. His action scenes are particularly well handled - the opening scene in South Armagh is shockingly realistic. In fact there's a gritty realism throughout this book which will linger long in the memory. All in all this is an impressive piece of work by a talented writer ." Abrach, UK There's no let up and the stakes soar as criminals attack Sam’s family. As a matter of fact, Eilidh’s in a crazy-dangerous situation too, her sanity hanging by a slender thread. Yet, in the midst of it all, an unexpected helper is at hand … miaow. People say – ‘ they cover-up ’ … ’ it’s one law for them and another for us ’ … ‘ we bale out the banks and they get the bonuses ’ … Just for once, wouldn’t it be nice if someone flushed the criminals out? Well, here you go …
“As this book opens, it seems an exciting, and very readable, action thriller. Then as the characters are developed one is drawn in by the witty dialogue, by the fierce and touching family loyalties, and by the noble defense of the vulnerable against those who would abuse them to their own ends. Initially repelled by the violence in this novel, I felt, as in Stieg Larsson’s novels, the visceral satisfaction of seeing justice meted out to the abusers of women.” Maryann N, WA USA Read all about it in Angels’ Cut - the Slice, Dark Art - the Price and, coming soon, Devil’s Due - the Price . Crunch, a taster and backstory for the Angels' Share Series is coming, priceless, very soon.

Gritty, fast-moving intrigue of corruption married with violent crime... a great read...

Any business man or woman who's been around a while will easily recognise the elements of corruption that underpin this fast-moving yarn... the main characters don't really exist in real life... or do they ?.. take the greed and stealth of high-placed government officials, mix in top-ranking law enforcement personnel dealing on the wrong side of the criminal line, add a range of English, Irish and other big-time, violent, criminal players, drum up really hard, hard-assed special forces types on both sides of the legal divide, light the blue touch paper and stand back... through no desire of his own, Sam Duncan, an ex-special ops man, now a part-time lay preacher, is sucked in to the hunt for his kidnapped investigative journalist sister... the field rustiness is cast off with ease as he deals with confrontation after confrontation with forces desperate to silence his sister permanently, and through that, silence Sam also... enough twists and action scenes keep this novel spanking along at a great pace... I can't wait to read the ensuing work by Mac Logan... a great find and an equally superb read...
