This book was a chore to struggle through–and I'm a pretty quick learner of software!

Even as early as the exercises in Chapter 2, I was noticing errors or instructions that could be interpreted more than one way. By the end of the book I was exasperated by the ease in which you could do the exercises without truly understanding the concepts, and that larger concepts such as multiplying, were not adequately explained.

The book also uses lengthy, confusing names to describe basic functions, like accessing a command that is in one of the menu bar files. Once you're about 3/4 through the book they start to come easier, but before then I wish you luck trying to decipher many of the instructions.

Used as a text in a class that was also pretty unremarkable, I found my familiarity with the book to be better in a reference context...as I was working on my final project for the class, I could refer back to it so I'd *really* learn the concepts, as they were much more important to me to complete a project that had personal relevance.
