I think book 4 of the series is the best. You don't have to read the other three to know the story, but I recommend them all. It is 1910 and things are different than today but Law is coming slowly to the west. When Janie is killed instead of her husband Manny Hendershott, every knows who the killer was and now are after him. Ralph Forney and Ross Hendershott, although 68 are called in so they can help hunt down the man and try to bring him back for trial. This western is a great novel because the author knows his history and brings it alive in this tale of law and life in the old west. The author does a terrific job not just with the feel of the story, but in explaining what weapons were used and how the people were different from today. The story and the writing will have readers finding themselves immersed in the story and the characters. Great job.

Revenge for Janie, by Berkeley Rourke.
Great wild west action
The author writes accurately of the times and describes each scene with much detail. This allows you to play each scene out in your mind, much like a movie. The story follows the Hendershot and Forney kids through a sad event and the revenge they had in mind. Things don’t go to plan though. I’ll say no more, as I don’t want to give anything away. If you like a good old western tale, then read on.
