Đây là một quyển sách, với thể mà mình không bao giờ chịu đụng tới... Nay chỉ vì "miếng cơm manh áo", mình dính cái task "tóm tắt sách" mà quằn quại ngồi nghe audiobook trong 10 tiếng (không liên tục) - hết 3 ngày trời. Phải mà đọc sách chữ, chắc mình bỏ cuộc (khóc thét).

Trước đầy mình từng tôn sùng "quý ngài tay ấm", còn hiện tại là chán ghét, nên vừa nghe vừa... ngáp (chứ muốn sao >"<).

Nói chung cũng có nhiều dữ kiện hay, nhưng vẫn mang màu sắc "tự sướng", "mèo khen mèo dài đuôi". Đọc để biết người ta dùng thủ thuật gì để thành công đến thế =))))

The overall concept of this book was a good one as it described President Obama's leadership style and how he has used it to succeed. The book was an easy ready, but you can tell it was put together in a hurry as it is very sloppy and repetitive. At many points in the book, I thought I misplaced my bookmark because I felt like I was rereading paragraphs. It turns out the author says the exact same thing throughout the book. It probably could have been consolidated into about 50 pages. I was very disappointed.

Một cuốn sách khá là lý tưởng hóa về Obama, khen quá nhiều dẫn đến cảm giác như tác giả là fan hâm mộ của Obama, thành ra dễ khiến người đọc suy nghĩ về tính công tâm của những khía cạnh được nói đến trong cuốn sách.
Obama có trí tuệ, sự điềm tĩnh, khả năng kết nối con người, những điều này thì nhiều người biết rồi. Nhưng khi đọc cuốn sách tôi kỳ vọng được thấy thêm những góc nhìn khác, những mặt trái, để từ đó có thể học điều hay từ ông và rút kinh nghiệm tránh gặp phải những điều chưa tốt.

Mang tính chất miêu tả, quảng cáo... sư thì trọc đầu, tổng thống mỹ là người giỏi hùng biện, ứng xử. Tuy vậy, cuốn sách hữu ích khi bạn tập trung nâng cao kỹ năng ứng xử của mình.

The books had some good ideas but was spoiled by the parochial style of writing. I found the book content to be quite shallow.

I think it's a great book if you are a High School or college student studying debate and public speaking. Wonderful if you are new to this type of material. It goes in depth in a very matter of fact way. I enjoyed the informative deconstruction of the President's style.

Personally, I'm a political and business book junkie, so this isn't the first time I've seen this topic. Aside from being an enjoyable book about how Barack Obama might approach speeches, it didn't really explore any new territory. I still give it high marks.

Had to read this for my business school leadership class. While I think the concept is a great one the execution was very far off. This was an absolutely awful book! Shelly Leanne mentions her other book so many times I almost feel like I've read that one too. While she makes good points about leadership, she uses the same examples written in the same way for every point she makes and after 20 pages it's incredibly boring. Professors - do not assign this to your students!!!
