This volume investigates the underlying mechanisms, using principles of materials science and mechanics, governing the fatigue and fracture behaviour of high-temperature structural materials. The entire spectrum of intermetallics and intermetallic-matrix composites is examined. Both experimental and theoretical aspects which highlight, develop and utilize those approaches meant to understand and improve fatigue, fracture, strength, ductility and toughness are covered. The papers are grouped by the following topics: titanium aluminides; high-temperature intermetallics; and composites.
